About Us

Making Waves Publishing was established by Leslie Long, Kathleen Ruddy and Phil Dalton of Making Waves Productions following the success of three productions of Caisleáin Óir - The Musical.

Caisléain Óir premièred in An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny in 2000, with a re-run in 2001. The 2005 production, also in An Grianán, played to packed houses once again, averaging 97% occupancy over all 13 performances.

In 2006, Caisléain Óir received an AIMS special adjudicator's award, encouraging the production team to publishing the musical, enabling other societies to perform Caisleáin Óir.

Excerpts from the 2005 production appeared on RTE's Nationwide programme in 2006.

In 2010, Caisléain Óir was performed by The Butt Drama Circle in The Balor Theatre, Ballybofey, again with sell-out performances.

In 2011, Kintra recorded "Sometimes I Wonder" taken from Caisléain Óir.

In 2013, An Grianán Productions in association with Making Waves Publishing produced Caisleáin Óir as their primary contribution for The Gathering. This production, which featured a cast of approximately 60 performers, was the highlight of their autumn/winter programme, and ran for 6 performances.

In 2014, St. John Bosco Youth Group produced Caisleáin Óir in the St. John Bosco Centre, Donegal Town. The cast was made up of youths aged 10-16.
